Today Room 6 went to the music room again to practice Twinkle Twinkle Little Star as a round! We tried really hard and practised it a few times but one group always seemed to get mixed up!
We're going to practice it one more time next week, but we decided we would get some great practice by playing together as one big team and work hard so that it sounded great for our syndicate assembly on Monday! Have a listen below.
We're going to be working to put together an assembly for next week and we wanted to share a preview - we're also going to be singing a very special song that was only released 4 days ago! I wonder if you can guess what it is? Keep your eyes and ears open for more lovely music coming out of the windows and doors of Room 6!

Magnificent Music
Yesterday afternoon we went to the music room and practiced playing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star!
First we sang along in words while Miss Walters played it on the marimba and then we did it again singing the notes we would play on our xylophones.
In case you were wondering the notes are:
CC GG AA G,
FF EE DD C,
GG FF EE D,
GG FF EE D,
CC GG AA G,
FF EE DD C.
We practiced a few times and then Miss Walters filmed us using the tablet and sang the letters along to help us. We did really well for a first try and Miss Walters was very proud and impressed with us!
Check out our video below!

Magical Music
This term we have been focusing on pitch and the different types of instruments. We have looked at using percussion instruments and tuned instruments.
Tuned instruments have lots of different notes and can have a low or a high pitch sound. They are instruments like the piano, a xylophone or our marimbas.
Percussion instruments have only one note that they play and these instruments might be a drum, maraca, cymbol or a triangle. We have used percussion instruments to keep the beat in our music lessons.
Over the next few weeks we are going to practice playing a song on the xylophone and marimba... Watch the video below and find out what the song is!
Perhaps at the end of the term we can video a mini concert to put on our blog and share with our viewers!
