Today we had our speech finals! We had some great speakers from Room 6 and you can watch their speeches below! We were really proud of them for standing up in front of the large audience and speaking clearly and loudly, looking at the audience, standing still and speaking slowly! Our year 4's were Dora, Riiana and Jessica and our year 3's were Limiteti, Kotipi and Agueer. Have a look at the videos we took of each of our great speakers today! Here is the video of our Year 4's: Here is the video of our Year 3's: Limiteti was the winner of the Year 0-3 competition and she got a trophy to take home and keep for the holidays, then a special blue one will be made for her to keep forever!
I hope that next term we can keep practicing having great speakers in our oral language time! A huge congratulations to everyone in our room because they all tried their best and all improved! We are all so proud of each other.
At the end of this term we will be having our speech competition! The competition will be held on the last day of term on Friday 25th September. The teachers will pick the people who have the best speeches in their classes to go to the speech competition and there they will see if their speech is the best for their age! This week Room 6 have started talking about good speech topics, how to give a good speech and how to be an excellent audience. We know that our speech needs to have lots of information about an interesting topic and that we need to write it at home by ourselves. Our families can help but they shouldn't do it for us! Over the next few weeks we will be writing and learning our speeches - some of us might even try using the class google drive account to save our speeches if we can get on it at home! Wish us luck!
